A unique construction H-300U integral bonnet precision needle valve

Zawory iglicowe H300U

H-300U needle valve features a one-piece body design, which means that the stem seat and connections are integrated into a single unit. This design is commonly used on instrumentation panels. The valve is available in sizes from 1/8” to 3/4” with various types of connections. This product offers four different types of stem to suit various applications, and two handle options: a coloured nylon knob or a metal handle.

  • Compact handle designed for use in tight spaces.

  • Panel nut ensures safety, reliability, and is essential for maintaining the manufacturer’s warranty for panel installation.

  • Thanks to the use of two panel nuts, installation is faster even with pipe imperfections.

  • Greater tightness, lower torque due to the self-sealing design of stem packing.

  • Stem is hardened (AISI 316 steel) to improve corrosion resistance and eliminate the galling and peeling of coating particles.

  • Stem thread is made by rolling (AISI 316 steel), which improves performance and provides greater precision in throttling.

  • Certified according to ISO 15848 standard for leakage of fugitive emissions.

  • Full traceability of the valves, due to the heat codes on the body, also in a brass version.

  • Compliance with REACH regulation.

Handle construction:
  • Difference:
Most competition usually offers a metal handle with a smooth surface. As the valve is mainly used for panel mounting, the handle should be as small as possible to save as much space as possible. Thus, the handle of this valve is very compact with a profiled shape.

  • Advantage:
Better grip for better valve operation.

  • Benefit:
Users report that the shape of the handle on H-300 valve is more user-friendly when operating in areas with limited space. Turning is very easy and no additional tools are needed.

  • Difference:
H-300U valve has a sealing nut with a male thread, while other manufacturers offer a version with a female thread.

  • Advantage:
During panel mounting, there is no need to unscrew the sealing nut, whereas in products made by competitors, it is necessary to remove it entirely in order to insert the valve through the panel.

  • Benefit:

    • Safety: No risk of leakage or stem pull-out due to its disassembly. Many products available in the market require the sealing nut to be completely unscrewed before panel mounting, which poses a safety risk.
    • Warranty: In the case of H-300U valves, the manufacturer’s warranty remains valid after panel installation. In the case of competitors, the warranty is voided because the sealing nut must be removed.
    • Reliability: The valves are factory assembled and factory tested – no effect of panel mounting on valve tightness.
    • Installation time: Faster and easier panel mounting. In the case of valves from other manufacturers, the sealing section must be taken apart and removed. After installation of the valve, this section must be put back together and the reassembled valve must be pressure tested.
  • Panel nut – sealing nut
  • Panel nut x2
Panel nut x2
  • Difference:
H-300U series valve comes with two panel nuts, while the valves of the competition have only one.

  • Advantage:
H-300U series valve allows the height of the valve to be adjusted during installation. This enables compensation for pipework imperfections, misalignment or height inaccuracies and still allows for easy and correct panel mounting, without excessive strain on the pipes.

  • Benefit:
Fewer problems in system construction, faster installation even with pipe imperfections, no/less pipe scrap during installation, shorter installation time.

  • Self-sealing stem packing design (Chevron type)
Self-sealing design of stem packing (Chevron type)
  • Difference:
300U series is built with Live-Loaded Chevron packing, while other manufacturers’ products are built with a rugged sealing ring and no spring washers.

  • Advantage:
    Greater leak tightness, lower torque.

  • Benefit:
Longer product life, more convenient manual operation, less frequent need to tighten the sealing nut, higher MTBF (mean time between failures), less downtime, lower maintenance costs. Less fugitive media emissions reduce the risk of hazardous substances entering the environment, which usually incurs additional costs.
Hardened stem (AISI 316 steel)
  • Difference:
H-300U stem is hardened with a special diffusion surface treatment (not a coating!). Other manufacturers harden their stems with chrome coating, while some do not harden the stem at all.

  • Advantage:
The chrome (or other) coating will peel off after a period of time and produce particles, flowing through the system at high velocity, causing damage to equipment and instrumentation, in particular to measuring devices.

No stem hardening will result in galling of the tip and stem threads, significantly reducing product life. H-300U series is the best option due to its unique reinforced stem design made by special diffusion hardening, which improves corrosion resistance and eliminates galling and peeling of coating particles.

  • Benefit:
Safe operation without galling, corrosion resistance – higher durability, longer service life, savings on spare parts, better seal on the seat, no contamination (from the coating), no damage to instruments and measuring equipment – resulting in fewer costly replacements, downtime, and prevention of system failures.

Stem thread formed by rolling (AISI 316 steel)
  • Difference:
The stem thread of the H-300U valve is manufactured using thread rolling method. Some manufacturers cut the thread on a lathe.

  • Advantage:
Improved performance and greater accuracy of stem throttling.

  • Benefit:
Smooth, soft and reliable operation, no stem seizure, no costly valve replacements, system failures or costly system downtime.

  • Hardened stem
Traceability of brass valves
Traceability of brass valves
  • Difference:
Brass H-300U series offers material traceability for both valve body and LET-LOK® nuts and ferrules, something that is rare in the industry.
  • Advantage:
    Advanced material tracking system.

  • Value:
Material traceability, transparency of material origin.

Classification for leakage of hazardous substances
  • Difference:
H-300U series is certified to ISO15848 standard that specifies procedures for measuring, testing and classifying industrial valves for hazardous substances leakage.

  • Advantage:
Most manufacturers do not hold this certification, whereas, some end-users and EPC contractors (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) require valves meeting this standard in their specifications.

  • Benefit:
Lower handling costs, reduced risks related to safety and release of hazardous media, fewer environmental fines and penalties.

Compliance with REACH regulation
  • Difference:
H-300U series is covered by the manufacturer’s REACH compliance.

  • Advantage:
Other manufacturers do not adhere to REACH.

  • Value:
Allows the customer to progress with the REACH conformity programme, as the entire supply chain must be REACH compliant.
