Threaded hydraulic pipe connectors according to SAE-J1453 (ORFS) standard are widely used in numerous industries to join or connect rigid pipe assemblies of outer diameters ranging from 6 to 38 mm, made of steel. These connectors are used in hydraulic and pneumatic drives and controls, but also for general purpose applications.

To connect the coupling with a rigid pipe assembly, the pipe end must be first formed with a special tool – it must be flared at 90° angle. When the coupling is tightened, an o-ring in the groove of the flatface of the male thread connector is compressed to provide leak tight connection.

ORFS connectors can also connect to the fittings of hydraulic flexible hose assemblies (e.g. type TI-ZOW110, ZOZ110).
