PTFE process hoses
PTFE process hoses – general information
PTFE process hoses are used for the clean and safe transfer of process fluids in chemical, food and pharmaceutical plants. They meet performance requirements concerning broad chemical resistance, a smooth profile for clean and fast flow, high pressure and vacuum resistance, flexibility and kink resistance.
The most important advantage of process hoses is that they can be lined with uniform PTFE layer along the entire hose length, including the fittings. The PTFE liner tube is extended through the fitting and flared out, using hot-forming, on the sealing face of the fitting. The braid is attached to the outside of the fitting and crimped with a ferrule. Thus, the substance passing through the hose comes into contact only with the completely chemically resistant PTFE, which eliminates the problem of corrosion resistance of the metal fittings. In addition, the inner surface of PTFE-lined fittings is continuous, smooth, without fluid entrapment areas (where bacteria can harbour and grow), ensuring the highest level of hose hygiene.

FAQ – PTFE process hoses
PTFE process hoses have high chemical resistance, resistance to high pressures and vacuum, good flexibility and kink resistance.
PTFE process hoses are used in applications that require hygienic media transfer.
The construction of hoses with an inside smooth, outside corrugated profile combines the advantages of corrugated (flexibility) and smoothbore hoses (ease of cleaning, laminar flow, higher flow rates).
The end connections are available as flared design (PTFE layer lined on the sealing surface) to ensure full-diameter flow along the entire hose length and eliminate potential ‘dead areas’.
The material of the hoses (PTFE) has a low coefficient of friction, “self-cleaning” properties. The SS braid is covered with a smooth, sleek silicone or EPDM cover which also facilitates maintaining external hygiene.
