The range of fittings that is used with PTFE hoses is virtually unlimited in terms of the type of connection to installation. They are assembled with standard industrial fittings (e.g. flange, threaded fittings, CAMLOCK), hygienic fittings for food and pharmaceutical industry (e.g. DIN 11851, SMS, RJT, IDF, Triclover), threaded fittings typical for high pressure hydraulics (BSP, BSPT, NPT, metric, JIC), as well as with many other types of fitting end connections made according to customer’s specification .
The way the fitting is assembled to the hose, the design of the fitting hose tail is basically a separate issue. Generally, the tail of the fitting must be designed so as to match the particular PTFE hose type. Crimp ferrules must also be intended for that particular PTFE hose types. A special type of fittings – PTFE lined and flared fittings, is used to assemble CORROFLON and BIOFLEX ULTRA hoses. PTFE liner tube is extended through the fitting and flared out. Whereas, popular HYPERLINE SB and HYPERLINE FX hoses can be assembled with standard fittings for hydraulic hoses and crimped with ferrules appropriate for PTFE hoses.
The fittings and ferrules intended for PTFE hoses are made of zinc-plated carbon steel, 304 and 316 stainless steel, polypropylene or other materials. There is one very distinctive type of fittings – DIP PIPES – rigid, straight or 90˚ elbow PTFE or stainless steel pipes designed for loading and unloading of tanks, barrels, containers, etc.
