Silicone Star silicone pressure hoses

Translucent silicone hoses made of platinum cured silicone, which provides extremely smooth inner surface to prevent an accumulation of contaminants.

To suit different applications, the hoses comply with such standards as:

  • US Pharmacopeia Class VI (approval for use in the pharmaceutical industry),
  • FDA (approval for use in the pharmaceutical and food industry),

  • BfR (German equivalent of FDA approval),

  • European Pharmacopoeia (IV Ed., EP. 3.1.9) (approval for use in the pharmaceutical industry),

  • Journal Officiel Brochure 1227 (French food contact materials approval).

The hoses can be supplied with all hygienic fittings available on the market. The hoses can be also crimped using stainless steel hygienic couplings and TI ferrules – designed specifically for Silicone Star hoses.  Plastic fittings (EM type) can also be used

Fittings for silicone hoses

Tri-clamp stainless steel couplings
Tri-clamp stainless steel couplings
  • TRICLOVER couplings (also called: TriClamp) are symmetrical, flange couplings. The flanges (flange faces) have grooves in which a gasket is placed and they are held together by a clamp.

  • The gasket (in silicone, PTFE, Viton, EPDM or NBR rubber) entirely fills up the gap between the flanges ensuring a very hygienic connection.
  • The working pressure of the coupling itself depends on the size of the coupling and type of the clamp applied (at least 16 bar up to 2” size, 10 bar – above 2”).
DIN11851 food couplings
  • Threaded couplings according to DIN11851 standard with Rd (rounded) thread are commonly used in dairies, in the food and chemical industries.

  • A standard gasket with D-shaped cross section is made of EPDM, silicone, NBR or Viton.

  • Maximum allowable working pressure (for DIN 11851 coupling itself) is 40 bar (DN10-DN40), 25 bar (DN50-DN100) and 16 bar (DN125-DN150).
SMS dairy couplings
  • Threaded couplings according to SMS Swedish standard with Rd (rounded) thread are commonly used in the dairy and food industries.

  • A standard gasket has a rectangular cross section and comes in PTFE, Viton, EPDM or NBR . The couplings are made of 316 steel (nut is in 304 steel as standard).

  • Maximum allowable working pressure (for the coupling itself) is 15 bar.

RJT stainless steel hygienic couplings
  • RJT threaded couplings (Ring Joint Type, BS 4825-5 standard) with Whitworth imperial thread are used in the dairy and food industry mainly in the UK.

  • A thick O-ring (in NBR or EPDM rubber) seals the coupling. It can be dismantled easily. As the crevice is pretty large, the couplings are rather not suitable for cleaning without dismantling (CIP).

  • Maximum allowable working pressure (for the coupling itself acc. to BS 4825-5) is 10 bar.

IDF stainless steel hygienic couplings

  • IDF coupling are threaded couplings with a trapezoidal thread (International Dairy Federation, BS 4825-4 and ISO 2853 standards) used in the dairy industry and food industry.

  • They come with a rubber T-shaped cross section gasket.
  • Maximum allowable working pressure (for the coupling itself acc. to BS 4825-4) is 16 bar.
