TEFLEX hose for highly aggressive chemicals
High-quality suction and discharge hose designed for the transfer of a wide range of aggressive chemical substances. The hose’s broad application, primarily in the chemical industry, is conditioned by the excellent resistance of fluoropolymer FEP to aggressive solvents and concentrated alkalis and acids such as hydrochloric, sulfuric, phosphoric, nitric acids, as well as sodium and potassium hydroxides. The hose can also be used in the food and pharmaceutical industries. It is commonly used in cleanroom environments. The inner layer is made of white tetrafluoroethylene/fluoropropylene copolymer FEP (a thermoplastic fluoropolymer with properties similar to Teflon), mirror-smooth (prevents medium deposition on the walls and is easy to maintain cleanliness), odorless and tasteless, meeting high hygiene standards (FDA, USP Class VI). Intermediate layers made of white synthetic rubber include reinforcement with synthetic cord, a steel wire spiral, and two copper wires for discharging electrostatic charges. The outer layer is made of orange EPDM rubber, resistant to abrasion, ozone, and weather conditions. The hose features excellent chemical resistance and cleanliness of FEP, as well as exceptional temperature resistance. Specifically designed for Cleaning-in-Place (CIP) cleaning methods, including steam sterilization at 150ºC. Standards and requirements: Chemical hoses: EN 12115:2011 (type M). Food industry, contact with food (inner layer): USP Class VI, FDA 21 CFR 177.1550. Confirmation of resistance and application conditions requires contact with Tubes International. Inner layer: white, smooth FEP. Reinforcement: synthetic cord, steel spiral. Outer layer: orange smooth EPDM rubber. Working pressure: 16 bar. Vacuum: 0.9 bar. Operating temperature: from -40°C to +150°C.
