Other instrumentation valves and filters – general information
Apart from ball valves and needle valves, instrumentation systems also include:
- check valves, i.e. unidirectional valves that allow the flow in one direction only;
- relief valves, normally closed, open and release the agent after the pre-set pressure is reached;
- other valves e.g. excess flow shut-off valves – close the flow when the assembly bursts.
- filters – protect instruments from particles and contaminants.
