The hose is made of a smooth, seamless PTFE tube. The Teflon hose tube is extruded under strictly defined and controlled conditions, ensuring its highest quality, minimal porosity, and maximum flexibility and elasticity achievable for a smooth PTFE hose. The braid is made of annealed AISI 316 steel wire, with a strictly controlled angle of arrangement and tension of the braid wire bundles, resulting in minimal length changes of the hose under high pressure. Due to the unique properties of PTFE (wide operating temperature range, resistance to most substances and chemical compounds, negligible surface adhesion), the SMOOTHBORE hose is perfectly suited for the transfer of chemicals, foodstuffs, fuels, oils, paints, solvents, adhesives, dyes, detergents, steam, etc. – as well as for classic high-pressure hydraulic oil installations. Safety factor 3:1; if a 4:1 factor is required (e.g., according to EN 16643), values should be multiplied by 0.75. At operating temperatures above +130ºC, the maximum working pressure specified in the parameters should be reduced by 0.75% for each 1ºC above this temperature. For example, at a temperature of 170ºC, the maximum working pressure for the hose AF-SWSB-316-06 is: 240 bar – (170ºC-130ºC) x 0.75 = 240 bar – 30% = 168 bar. Hose material: smooth PTFE (Teflon). Reinforcement: single braid of AISI 316 steel. Working pressure: from 80 bar to 240 bar – depending on the hose diameter. Operating temperature: from -70°C to +260°C.
