Is the ORFS adaptor with GZ BSP in carbon steel, type EVGE-B compatible with standard 60° cone seal BSP fittings and does it require any special installation tools?

The ORFS adaptor with GZ BSP in carbon steel, type EVGE-B Format is designed with an external BSP thread featuring a 60° cone seal, so it is compatible with standard BSP fittings that use a 60° cone sealing surface. Because the adaptor provides the mating cone geometry, it will form a proper metal-to-metal seal with standard 60° cone BSP counterparts when correctly matched by size and thread specification. No special installation tools are normally required beyond standard hydraulic fitting tools: appropriate wrenches for the hex flats and a torque wrench to achieve the recommended tightening torque. Ensure correct alignment and cleanliness of sealing surfaces before assembly. If specified by the system or manufacturer, apply the recommended torque values and any thread sealant only where permitted (note that cone seals generally do not require thread sealant on the sealing face). Always verify size and thread class compatibility and follow any installation instructions or torque specs provided by the supplier.

Does the ORFS adaptor with GZ BSP in carbon steel, type EVGE-B (60° cone seal) require specific torque values or thread sealant for proper installation?

The ORFS adaptor with GZ BSP in carbon steel, type EVGE-B (60° cone seal) typically requires correct tightening torque and proper sealing practice. Use the manufacturerâs specified torque values for the BSP male thread to avoid damaging the 60° cone seat or distorting the ORFS face; if no value is provided, tighten to a reliable torque based on thread size and material (consult torque charts for carbon steel BSP threads). For sealing: the 60° cone seat provides metal-to-metal sealing and normally does not require pipe thread sealant on the cone face itself. Do not apply sealant to the ORFS flat face or cone seat; if using PTFE/pipe sealant, confine it to the BSP thread only and avoid excess that could contaminate the sealing surfaces. Always follow the EVGE-B manufacturer installation instructions and recheck torque after initial pressurization.

Can the ORFS adaptor with GZ BSP in carbon steel, type EVGE-B withstand hydraulic pressures and temperatures typical for 60° cone seal systems?

The ORFS adaptor with GZ BSP in carbon steel, type EVGE-B Format, made of carbon steel and galvanized, is designed to mate ORFS-style fittings with a BSP external thread using a 60° cone (60° cone seal) interface. Whether it can withstand hydraulic pressures and temperatures âtypical for 60° cone seal systemsâ depends on several factors: - Material strength: Carbon steel (galvanized) generally offers high tensile and yield strength suitable for typical hydraulic pressures found in industrial and mobile equipment (commonly up to several hundred bar, depending on design). Galvanization protects against corrosion but does not significantly change mechanical capacity. - Seal geometry: A properly manufactured 60° cone seat provides reliable metal-to-metal sealing when torqued correctly; leak-tight performance at rated pressures depends on correct thread engagement, seat integrity, and surface finish. - Connection ratings: The actual pressure and temperature limits are set by the adaptorâs dimensional standard and testing/certification (e.g., DIN/ISO/BSP/SAE equivalents), not solely by material. Without specific rated pressure/temperature values, you cannot assume compatibility with extreme conditions. - Temperature limits: Carbon steel is suitable across a wide temperature range (commonly â20 °C to +120 °C for typical hydraulic fluids; higher temperatures may be tolerated but affect seals and galvanizing). Elevated temperatures reduce material strength and may degrade any nonmetallic seals in the system. - Safety factors: System working pressure should be within the adaptorâs specified working pressure and below its maximum allowable pressure. Proper installation torque, use of compatible fluids, and avoidance of misalignment are essential. Conclusion: The ORFS adaptor with GZ BSP in carbon steel, type EVGE-B Format, is mechanically suitable for typical hydraulic pressures and temperatures encountered in many 60° cone seal systems, provided the specific adaptor has been manufactured and tested to the appropriate pressure/temperature ratings and is installed per manufacturer specifications. For definitive confirmation, consult the adaptorâs technical datasheet or manufacturer for the exact rated working pressure and allowable temperature range.
