Use with nonâsteam fluids at high temperatures is possible only if those fluids are chemically compatible with the materials (galvanized steel/cast iron, polymer or copper insert) and within the same pressure/temperature limits. Avoid aggressive chemicals, oils or fluids that attack galvanizing, cast iron, copper or the polymer insert, or that require different sealing materials. For fluids with higher pressures/temperatures, or corrosive/flammable media, consult the manufacturer or select fittings specified for the fluid.

The complete fitting consists of three parts – a spherical end GB with a spigot (“tail”) for the hose, a wing nut B with a special internal thread (NPS), and a special GFB adapter with an external thread (NPS) matching the nut and an internal thread of the same size as the fitting. The GFB adapter has a conical polymer or copper insert that works with the spherical end. This creates a tight, steam-resistant, and high-temperature connection that is also easy to unscrew and screw without the use of special tools, using the wing nut.
