Can the UPS-3 lever hose crimper be used with EC-type ferrules outside the standard DN 3â16 ranges?

Yes. with limitations. The UPS-3 lever hose crimper is supplied with two sets of jaws that cover DN 3â8 (EC ferrule I.D. 8â17 mm) and DN 10â16 (EC ferrule I.D. 18â28 mm). Within those stated ranges it will crimp EC-type ferrules correctly. To work outside the standard DN 3â16 ranges you must fit compatible additional tooling: the press can accept an optional base with index EC-100250, which extends the machineâs capability when used with appropriate crimping segments. You cannot reliably crimp EC ferrules outside the specified diameters without obtaining the correct additional tooling (EC-100250 and matching segment sets) sized for the larger or smaller ferrules.
