Teflon and antistatic thick wall hose, single braided steel AISI 304, SMOOTHBORE HWSB
The hose is made of a smooth, seamless PTFE tube. The Teflon tube of the hose is extruded under strictly defined and controlled conditions, ensuring its highest quality, minimal porosity, and maximum flexibility and elasticity achievable for a smooth PTFE hose. The heavy-duty HW version is recommended for harsher working conditions, gases (up to 100 bar), and applications where cyclic temperature changes occur. The braid is made of annealed AISI 304 stainless steel wire with a high tensile strength of 1700 N/mm², with a strictly controlled angle of arrangement and tension of the braid wire bundles, resulting in minimal length changes of the hose under high pressure. Due to the unique properties of PTFE (wide temperature range, resistance to most substances and chemical compounds, negligible surface adhesion), the SMOOTHBORE hose is perfectly suited for the transfer of chemicals, foodstuffs, fuels, oils, paints, solvents, adhesives, dyes, detergents, steam, etc. – as well as for classic high-pressure hydraulic oil installations. In cases where there is a risk of static electricity (danger of charge generation and accumulation), SMOOTHBORE hoses made of antistatic Teflon should be used – the antistatic version AS. The antistatic Teflon of version AS is black (contains appropriately distributed carbon in PTFE) and has a resistance R <10⁸ Ω (according to ISO 8031 annex A). This ensures the dissipation and dispersion of electric charges. The safety factor is 3:1; if a 4:1 factor is required (e.g., according to EN 16643), the values should be multiplied by 0.75. At operating temperatures above +130°C, the maximum working pressure specified in the parameters should be reduced by 0.75% for each 1°C above this temperature. For example, at a temperature of 170°C, the maximum working pressure for hose AF-HWSB-06 is: 260 bar – (170°C-130°C) x 0.75 = 260 bar – 30% = 182 bar. The value "Wall thickness [mm]" provided in the Technical Data refers to the PTFE layer. Hose material: smooth PTFE (Teflon). Reinforcement: single braid of AISI 304 steel. Working pressure: from 55 bar to 240 bar – depending on the hose diameter. Operating temperature: from -70°C to +260°C.
