Does the PVC ISO-F quick connector plug cap, type SPLT, provide a leak-proof seal for long-term storage and transport?

The PVC ISO-F quick connector plug cap, type SPLT, is designed to protect ISO-F non-leak quick coupling faces from contamination (dirt, dust, moisture) that can damage components or allow impurities into the system. Made of PVC and fitted as a blind plug, it provides a basic dust- and splash-resistant barrier suitable for short- to medium-term protection during handling, storage, and transport. However, because its purpose and material are focused on contamination protection rather than forming a certified pressure-tight seal, it should not be relied on as a guaranteed long-term, pressure-proof leak seal for stored or transported fluid-filled systems. For long-term storage or transport where absolute leak prevention and pressure retention are required, use a dedicated pressure-rated cap/plug or a sealing solution specifically specified for leak-tight storage and the expected pressures, temperatures, and chemical exposure. In summary: PVC ISO-F quick connector plug cap, type SPLT offers contamination protection and limited moisture resistance but is not intended as a certified long-term leak-proof seal for pressurized systems.

Can the PVC ISO-F quick connector plug cap, type SPLT, withstand chemical exposure without degrading?

The PVC ISO-F quick connector plug cap, type SPLT offers basic protection against dust and contaminants but PVC has limited chemical resistance. It withstands many water-based fluids and mild acids/bases, but can degrade with strong solvents (ketones, aromatic hydrocarbons), concentrated acids/alkalis, and some chlorinated solvents. Prolonged exposure to aggressive chemicals, fuels or oils may cause swelling, softening or embrittlement, compromising the seal. For critical chemical environments, choose a cap made from chemically resistant material (e.g., EPDM, FKM, PTFE) or consult chemical compatibility charts and the fluid manufacturer before use.

Is the PVC ISO-F quick connector plug cap, type SPLT compatible with high-temperature environments?

No. the PVC ISO-F quick connector plug cap, type SPLT is not suitable for high-temperature environments. Its construction from PVC (polyvinyl chloride) and its purpose as a simple blind plug for ISO-F non-leak quick couplings indicate itâs intended primarily for contamination protection and short-term sealing at ambient or moderate temperatures. PVC has limited heat resistance: prolonged exposure above ~60â80°C (140â176°F) can cause softening, deformation, loss of seal, accelerated aging, discoloration or material failure. For high-temperature applications you should select caps/plugs made from higher-temperature materials (e.g., silicone, high-temp rubber, PTFE, metal) rated for the specific temperature range, and verify compatibility with system fluids and pressures. If you need an exact maximum service temperature for a specific use case, consult the manufacturerâs technical datasheet or contact their technical support for validated temperature and chemical compatibility data.
