SUPERTOP LL FOOD UPE® food grade chemical transfer hose
Strong suction and discharge hose designed for the transfer of liquid chemicals, including aggressive acids, bases, alcohols, and other detergents used for cleaning installations in food processing plants (selection according to the principles in the “Chemical Hoses” section of this catalog). The inner layer made of UPE complies with FDA requirements for food contact. Widely used in the food, cosmetic, chemical, and petrochemical industries. It features a copper wire ensuring electrical continuity between the hose ends. The outer layer is resistant to abrasion, ozone, and weather conditions. Compliant with EN 12115:11 requirements (type M, resistance between hose ends R ≤ 100 Ω, guaranteed for hoses up to 40 m in length). Standards and requirements: 1) Chemical hoses EN 12115:2011. Food industry, food contact (inner layer) 1935/2004/EC, 2023/2006/EC (GMP), 10/2011/EU (simulant fluids A, B, D2), FDA 21 CFR 177.1520, BfR III. Installation: use smooth fittings with a spigot (“tail” to the hose) without sharp or high ribs that could cut or damage the inner UPE layer when tightened. The spigot diameter should be precisely matched to the hose diameter to ensure tightness. Installation with clamp sleeves or shell clamps. Inner layer: white polyethylene UPE. Reinforcement: synthetic cord, steel spiral. Outer layer: blue EPDM rubber. Working pressure: 16 bar. Vacuum: 0.8 ÷ 0.9 bar – depending on the hose diameter. Operating temperature: -30°C to +100°C.
