Is the Insert DIN 3015 heavy, rubber, type 201 suitable for continuous use between -40°C and +80°C?

Yes. The Insert DIN 3015 heavy, rubber, type 201 is specified with an operating temperature range from -40°C to +80°C, so it is suitable for continuous use within that temperature window. Ensure the installed application does not impose additional chemical exposure, ozone, or dynamic loading beyond the rubberâs typical limits, as those factors can affect long-term performance even within the stated temperature range.

Can Insert DIN 3015 heavy, rubber, type 201 withstand exposure to oils, fuels or hydraulic fluids without degrading?

Insert DIN 3015 heavy, rubber, type 201 is made of rubber and rated for operation between -40°C and +80°C. The description does not state chemical or fuel resistance. Therefore you cannot assume compatibility with oils, fuels or hydraulic fluids-rubber formulations vary widely in their resistance. If exposed to such fluids without confirmed material specification or supplier data (e.g., nitrile/NBR, EPDM, Viton/FKM), the insert may swell, soften or degrade. For safe use, obtain the exact rubber compound and its chemical resistance chart from the manufacturer or choose an insert explicitly specified as fuel/oil/hydraulic resistant.

Can Insert DIN 3015 heavy, rubber, type 201 be used with pipes having abrasive or rough outer surfaces?

Yes. Insert DIN 3015 heavy, rubber, type 201 can be used with pipes that have abrasive or rough outer surfaces, but with caution. Why it works: - The insert is made of rubber, which provides cushioning and conforms to irregularities, reducing point loads and protecting the pipe. - Its profiled (grooved) inner surface improves grip on the pipe, helping to resist axial and radial movement even on uneven surfaces. Limitations and recommendations: - Abrasive or very rough surfaces can accelerate wear of the rubber over time. This is more likely under vibration, relative movement, or high clamping loads. - For high abrasion environments or sharp/protruding roughness, consider adding a protective sacrificial layer on the pipe (e.g., adhesive tape, thin sleeve) or using an insert/material specifically rated for abrasion resistance. - Regular inspection is advised to monitor rubber wear and ensure continued clamp performance. - Ensure clamping torque and load follow DIN 3015 guidance; excessive compression can increase wear, insufficient compression reduces clamping security. Summary: Insert DIN 3015 heavy, rubber, type 201 is suitable for pipes with rough/abrasive outer surfaces in many applications, provided measures are taken to mitigate accelerated wear (protective layer, proper installation, periodic inspection).
