Is the 90° adjustable angle fitting ORFS with carbon steel BSP socket, type WE-BG, compatible with mineral and synthetic hydraulic oils without additional sealants?

Yes. The 90° adjustable angle fitting ORFS with carbon steel BSP socket, type WE-BG is compatible with both mineral and synthetic hydraulic oils without the need for additional sealants. The fitting uses an ORFS (O-ring face seal) with washer, providing a reliable elastomer seal at the face of the connection; when assembled correctly with the specified O-ring and washer, this sealing method is intended for typical hydraulic fluids, including mineral and synthetic oils. As with any hydraulic component, ensure the O-ring material is compatible with the specific fluid and operating temperature, and follow recommended assembly torque and inspection procedures to maintain leak-free performance.

Can the 90° adjustable angle fitting ORFS with carbon steel BSP socket, type WE-BG, be used in saltwater or marine environments without additional corrosion protection?

No. The 90° adjustable angle fitting ORFS with carbon steel BSP socket, type WE-BG, is made of carbon steel with galvanization. Galvanizing offers basic corrosion resistance but is generally insufficient for prolonged exposure to saltwater or harsh marine environments, where galvanic and pitting corrosion accelerate. For marine use you should specify fittings in stainless steel (e.g., 316/316L), apply additional marine-grade coatings, or use sacrificial anodes and regular maintenance. Without such additional corrosion protection or a marine-grade material, the 90° adjustable angle fitting ORFS with carbon steel BSP socket, type WE-BG, is not recommended for saltwater/marine environments.

Does the 90° adjustable angle fitting ORFS with carbon steel BSP socket, type WE-BG require specific torque values for installation?

Yes. The 90° adjustable angle fitting ORFS with carbon steel BSP socket, type WE-BG requires specific torque control during installation to ensure proper sealing and avoid damage. Because it uses an ORFS (O-ring face seal) with a washer, correct torque is needed to compress the Oâring sufficiently for a leakâtight seal while preventing overâcompression that can extrude or damage the Oâring or deform the sealing surfaces. Recommended torque values depend on thread size, nominal pressure rating, and surface condition; therefore you should use the manufacturerâs torque chart for the exact thread size of the 90° adjustable angle fitting ORFS with carbon steel BSP socket, type WE-BG. If a manufacturer chart is not available, follow these general guidelines: - Use calibrated torque wrenches. - Start with conservative torque and tighten incrementally to the specified value. - For common BSP sizes, typical installation torques for ORFS fittings fall in ranges used for comparable carbon steel BSP ORFS fittings (consult standards or supplier data). - After initial tightening, cycle the system and recheck torque and leak tightness. If you need exact Nm values for a specific BSP thread size of the 90° adjustable angle fitting ORFS with carbon steel BSP socket, type WE-BG, provide the thread size (e.g., 1/2", 3/4", 1") and I will supply typical torque recommendations or seek the manufacturerâs datasheet.
